What Power is Behind You Vs. RAD – Part Two

Sevenfold Spirit Vs. RAD

This blog provides support for adoptive families, especially those with the difficulties of adopted RAD children. If this is your first time visiting this blog, please read the previous posts. I have spoken on many subjects that will be helpful as you walk out the life of being an adoptive parent.

In my last post I  talked about the Holy Spirit – specifically one of the sevenfold parts of the Holy Spirit called Wisdom. My previous post will help you understand where I’m going with this post. Please have a look.

In this post, I will continue (in outline form) to break down the seven parts of the Holy Spirit shown in Isa. 11:2. In my next two posts, I will pull everything together and discuss the power that is behind you while specifically facing RAD and adoption issues.

This concludes part two on the “power that is behind you” and the seven fold Spirit of the Holy Spirit. I just wanted to lay some ground work before we got into the depths of what this all means to you as a parent of an adopted child. I will expound on all of this in my next post.

I would love to hear from you so please make a comment in the box below. Until we meet again…

What Power is Behind You Vs. RAD? Part One

The Power Behind You!

This blog is about helping foster and adoptive families struggling with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) children. RAD poses very specific challenges and I have written more on this subject in many other posts. Please have a look.

My last two posts exposed the Spirit of Narcissism and the effects it has on families, especially when an adopted child is narcissistic. These posts also described how a narcissist influences other relationships as well. The purpose of exposing the Spirit of Narcissism is to get freedom and healing from this spirit and to encourage others in your family to do the same.

Today’s post will begin to describe one of greatest sources of healing and freedom available to us – the Holy Spirit. This is the first post about the Holy Spirit and today I’m intentionally emphasizing Wisdom. In scripture – Wisdom is referred to as a she. Upcoming posts will include all of the seven parts of the Holy Spirit and the power that equips you to walk through the challenges of RAD.

We were created by God to be parents of adopted RAD children and it takes great wisdom to do so. As you will see, Wisdom is represented as a person in scripture. It is because Holy Spirit is the third “Person” of the Trinity. Holy Spirit has seven parts and Wisdom is one of those parts. Holy Spirit is called  the seven fold Spirit of God in Scripture. We are going to take a general but scriptural look at the seven fold spirit in this and the next three posts.  Today we are going to zero in on the scriptures that describe Wisdom.

The next two sections below are in an outline format. It would benefit you to look up the scripture references on your own. My hope is that you will be informed to parent with Wisdom at your side.

The Seven-fold Spirit of God:

 1)  Gal. 3: 26-4:2…what I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. He is subject to guardians & trustees until the time set by the father.

  1. A)  We are God’s heirs and Holy Spirit is our teacher (guardian).  We grow and mature until the time set by the Father  God. This prepares us for our destinies.

2) Rev. 4: 5

3) Holy Spirit – Isa.11:2

  • Spirit of the Lord
  • Spirit of wisdom – referred to as she
  • Spirit of Understanding
  • Spirit of Counsel
  • Spirit of Might
  • Spirit of Knowledge
  •  Spirit of the Fear of the Lord
  • ⇒ Put them all together and it makes up the Holy Spirit

4) Proverbs and Psalm refers to all the seven fold Spirits that make up Holy Spirit – but today I am going to focus on Wisdom in Proverbs.

 Scriptures about Wisdom in Proverbs:

  •  Wisdom was created first of all God’s works and was a craftsman (or co-created) by His side – 8:22 and 30
  • Wisdom is supreme and we are to love her – 4:7 & 8:17
  • We’re to receive Wisdom in our hearts and Knowledge is pleasant to our soul – 2:10
  • Discretion, Understanding and Wisdom will protect and guard us – 28:26, 4:6, 2:11, and 1:33
  • Wisdom and Understanding call from paths, gates, entrances, city gates,  along the way, and heights- 8:1-3
  • Wisdom is the Father’s delight and she delights in mankind and creation – 8:30-31
  • We’re to go to Wisdom’s house and eat at her table – 9:2 and 5
  • If we love and respond to Wisdom’s rebukes – she will pour her heart out to us and make her thoughts known to us – 1:23. If we don’t she will laugh at our disaster, mock at our calamity – there will be storms, whirlwinds, distress will overwhelm you and you will not find her, etc. – 1:24-32
  • The Lord gives Wisdom. From His mouth comes Knowledge and Understanding, etc. 2:6-9
  • She’s more precious than rubies…long life are in her right hand and  riches and honor are in her left hand and she is a tree of life, etc. – 3:13-18
  • Wisdom dwells with prudence and possess Knowledge, discretion, Counsel, sound judgment, Understanding, and Power – 8:12-14
  • Wisdom walks in the way of righteousness – along the paths of justice – 8:20
  • We need to listen, watch at Wisdom’s doors and wait at her doorway – 8:34
  • We find life and favor when we find wisdom -8:35
  • Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is the beginning of Understanding – 9:10
  • Fear of the Lord teaches man Wisdom – 15:33
  • The fountain of Wisdom is a bubbling brook -18:4b
  • A wise man has great power and a man of Knowledge increases strength; for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers – 24:5-6
  • Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her…lay hold of her and be blessed – 3:18
  • The path of life leads upwards for the wise – 15:24a
  • Buy truth and don’t sell it; get Wisdom, discipline and Understanding – 23:23
  • Most of the seven fold spirit are considered trees of life, fountains of life, or bring life – 22:4, 16:22, 3:18, 19:23
  • A discerning man keeps wisdom in view – 17:24a
  • He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who cherishes understanding prospers – 19:8
  • The lips of a King speak as an oracle, and his mouth should not betray justice. Oracle= a person considered to be a source of wise counsel or prophetic opinion – 16:10
  • Wisdom reposes in the heart of the discerning and even among fools she lets herself be known. Repose = act of resting or the state of being at rest. Freedom from worry; peace of mind. Calmness and tranquility. – 14:33
  • I Kings 3:9 + 28 and 4:29 – Solomon asked for Wisdom and an Understanding heart and was able to administer justice.

So as we wrap this post up I want to encourage you in several things and reference them to parenting a RAD child:

  • We’re oracles and can ask for wisdom and an understanding heart.
  •  Wisdom wants to repose in our hearts, and keep us and our loved ones safe.
  • We’re to love wisdom, accept her rebukes, and learn about her from The Fear of the Lord. Then she will pour her heart out to us.
  • We’re to get strategy from Wisdom, watching  and waiting at her door(s), at the heights, ways, gates, gates to the cities, paths, entrances, and at her table.
  • Wisdom will bring life, righteousness and justice on her paths and to us if we follow her.
  • We’re to delight in and honor her like God does.
  • Wisdom is very powerful and is the force behind us if we let her show us the way.

I will continue with the other parts of the seven fold Spirit of God in the next four posts. Please make a comment in the box below. Till next time…
